A Cat's Work Is Never Done!

Venus here -

You can see by these pictures how hard I have to work around this place. My day begins at 6:00 in the morning, waking up James for school. Among my many other duties, I am the "Alarm Cat". Sure, they have a clock with an alarm, but I don't really trust it. My motto is, "If you want something done right, do it yourself!" Here I am helping my mom hem Sam's pants for his 8th grade graduation. I'm especially handy with thread. My mom doesn't realize how dangerous it is; I have to make sure it's nice and knotted up, so it won't hurt anybody. If my family only knew how vigilantly we protect them!

    Venus,
You are a credit to cats all over the world and a wonderful help to your staff. It is always good to show how indispensable we are.

    Dear Venus,

do I correctly guess that the person you unfailingly wake up every morning at 6:00 is NOT the one who feeds you? How selfless!

    Hello Nicky and Agnes -

Well, I do try to be useful. I can't stand just laying around like some cats I know. Besides, nobody knows how to do things as well as I do. If I didn't supervise, nothing would ever get done right.

*Meow* Venus! You seem to be a hard worker. I think that's great! We try to do the same over at our home. Sometimes, mom doesn't catpreciate our efforts, though!

Working with thread is hard work. I salute you! *meow*

Venus - you probably didn't realize which of us was talking... but it was me, Saddie. I'm the more outgoing of us!*purr*

    Why, hello Saddie -

One sad fact about human ownership is that your efforts on their behalf are not always appreciated. Like kittens, they don't understand sometimes that we always know best. But nevertheless we must do our duty.

    Meow Venus,
Mango here - We were looking at your pictures and couldn't help but notice that James has blond hair. We think he's a fine looking youth. We like blonds. Our mom is blond.

I guess I'm a lot like you, Venus. I have to wake mom up, a lot of the time. Sometimes, she hits the snooze button on the alarm, and I have to make her get up. I usually walk around on her. Purr... since she stopped giving me pills, I like her a lot better.

    Hello Sergeant!

Mmm - there is just something about a man in uniform...

Well, anyway - we have a lot of blond humans around here, but James is the only towhead. My mom was a towhead till she was grown, but she dyes her hair red now. I don't know why she's not interested in a nice, warm brown color...
