We Love Our Toys

Venus here -

As you can see, like all good little girls and boys, we have our own toys. But, as you can also see, I get some exercise with mine, while Tubs...well, I don't even need to say it, do I?

Uh, hello. I don't play with toys much except occasionally I sit on the catnip mouse. My sister Willow does the toy thing and those siamese ones.

Venus, Mercury(I believe you called him Tubs), looks very thin to me. But then my sister weighed 19 pounds last week and she's a girl. I am supposed to weigh more but I was a runt I guess.

I like to sleep on beds. Do you like to sleep with your Mercury? Boy, I sure wish my sister or that girl Maggie would curl up with me.

    You are very pretty.

Love, Nicky (Sir Nicholas Alexander of Brevard)

PS: Don't let the ridiculously long name fool you, I'm a regular guy, just fixed.

Once upon a time a family bought an electronic "squeeking" mouse for three little kitties (Ok, it chirped rather than squeaked; and the three little kitties were more like Larry, Curly and Moe, but I digress...)

Said chirping mouse was left under the Christmas tree as a wonderful suprise for the Three Kitties.

The Dog had the audacity to claim it. It has never been touched, nor will it ever be touched, by feline paws.

Momma bought the Three Kitties more toys and the dog now thinks he's a cat and will pounce any other fuzzy creature who comes within ten feet of toys. ::sigh::

    Hello Nicky -

Well, I myself weigh a slender five pounds, so naturally I tend to tease my brother about his weight. But it's only because I'm concerned about his health. I love him, but it drives me crazy to see him just laying around like some kind of pasha. I myself am very fitness-conscious, and sometimes I just have to do something to get his blood circulating, before he turns into the piece of granite that he resembles. So I engage him in a fun little game of wrestling, and he gets all huffy about it!

    He'll thank me one day.

To answer your question, check out our first picture on the blog! That's one instance where his extra avoirdupois is kind of nice.

And, thank you for the compliment. For a large guy, you are very handsome. And your manners are nice, too - I guess because of your royal heritage.

    Regards, Venus

Mercury and Venus - you both look very cute and felinish playing/sleeping with your toys. I was reading mom's blog.. We get to post every now and then, and your mom made some comment about you not being politically inclined. Now, how can this be? Are you the type of, "Don't Worry Be Happy," cats? I guess we should do that, too. We would probably get more sleep, that way.

    Sincerely - Sgt Mango Goldstein - !

Dear Lady Mrs. Goober Queen Ma'am,

It does not surprise me that your dog would aspire to cathood. Many dogs try do do this by appropriating cat toys, cat behaviors, cat beds, and the like.If I were so unfortunate as to have been born a dog, I'm sure that I would do anything in my power to rise to cathood.

    Yours in felinity,

    Mercury

    Dear Sgt. Mango, sir:

First, let me commend you on your military service. Not all cats are as civic-minded as yourself. You are obviously a gentleman and a patriot.

But, although my sister and I hold the greatest respect for cats like yourselves who deign to enlighten our somewhat feeble-minded humans, we feel that for us to sully ourselves in the rough-and-tumble world of human politics is, well...rather beneath us. And I, at least, am so busy with my own rich inner life that I simply haven't the time.

    Yours most respectfully,

    Mercury

    Dear Venus,

are you sleeping in the photo? If you are, have you thought about taking part in The Silly Sleeping Pose Olympics? It's at http://www.themoggy.com/olympics.htm

Or competing in Rhythmic Gymnastics events
(http://www.rsg.net)? I bet you could beat any human in your sleep, be it with ribbons, balls or hoops...

    Sincerely, Agnes
